I purchased IntelliMover 4.03 through Dell many years ago. I have never had an occasion to use it until now. It asked me for a License Code when I installed it, however, I do not have anything on the box or in it with such a code. Could you tell me how can I get one? Also, it is telling me I don't have Administrative permission. I am the only user and Windows logs on automatically.

The problem with this application is that you cannot obtain a licence code even if you want to because it has been discontinued. The application is no longer available for purchase or support. Additionally, right click it and select Run as Administrator in order to eliminate the Administrator issue.
Can I use my copy of Intellimover 3.7 to move my data from a Win XP computer to a new Win 8 machine? I am just curious if I can cross transfer between two different operating systems.

There is no information that can assure you this application works with Windows 8, so, what can I suggest you is to try transferring your data with IntelliMover. Also, I can recommend you to make this data transfer with an external hard drive (simply and quickly). Also, all programs that you have installed on your Win XP computer must be installed again in your Win 8 machine. You cannot just copy them from one location to another.
I have an IntelliMover 3.0 version. We just bought a new XPS 870 from Dell. It has Windows 8.1 as the operating system. Can I move all the files from Windows XP Home Edition to Windows 8.1? Also, where can I find USB cables for the IntelliMover to transfer the files from one hard drive to the other? Right now I have a older cord that will not fit the new hard drive tower.

Yes, you can use it to transfer files from Windows XP to Windows 8.1 You will need a compatible data cable such as USB or parallel. However, nowadays the it's easier to migrate the files through network or using a flash drive. Using a USB stick with 8-16GB should be more than enough to migrate the data. On a side note, you might experience problems because Windows XP applications might not be compatible with the Windows 8.1 operating system. IntelliMover is good to move personal files. For apps, you will need new versions to install on your computer.
